The main and general rule:
- The use of any bugs, cheat codes, as well as unofficial programs and modifications that give one player an unfair advantage over another is prohibited.

All rules can be changed by agreement between the players; this should be discussed before the game to avoid misunderstandings.
Rules for non-tournament games

1 - Duels

- Players agree on the number of duels in the planned match.
- An average of 10 is taken: this is the number of heroes that players eliminate from each other. By agreement, players can ban a desired number of heroes.
- After banning, not just one duel is played, but a series of duels (usually 4 or 5 games), naturally without reselecting heroes, i.e., used heroes go into the same list of the player who played them, as well as the banned ones.
- The player who created the game chooses the map on which the game will take place, then the second player chooses a hero (from their unbanned heroes), then the first player chooses a hero (from their unbanned heroes), and the game begins.
- Dynamic combat is disabled.
- Arenas "On Board!" and "Abyss" are prohibited. Again, if the players agree, I don't see any reason to prohibit these arenas. If you want a pirate boarding – please do.
- It is mandatory to create replays of each battle and store them until you see that the game has been counted towards the rating.
- In case of disconnection or game crash, by mutual decision of both sides, the duel:
a) is replayed;
b) victory is awarded based on a clear advantage for one of the parties;
c) the game is not replayed; no report about it is written; the selected heroes go into the ban list if this duel is not the last.

2 - Games on multiplayer maps:

- Turn time limit – 8 minutes
- Animation speed – maximum
- Fast combat – enabled
- Simultaneous turns – enabled
- Dynamic combat – disabled
- Ghost mode – disabled
- Autosave – enabled
- Game difficulty – veteran
- Daily saves are required
- The starting castle is chosen either by banning or at the player's discretion. Any bonus can be chosen as desired.
- In case of disconnection or game crash, the last autosave is loaded; players must accurately repeat all their moves up to the moment of disconnection or game crash.
- In case of battles between players in battle, a stalemate situation may arise (when neither player can win). In this situation, the attacking side must retreat or surrender (at its own discretion). If the artifact "Shackles of War" is involved in the battle, then in the event of a stalemate, the battle should be completed in AutoCombat mode.
- It is forbidden to add units in any way. With and without the Diplomacy skill. If you have added troops, they must be disbanded (fired). Exceptions: it is allowed to sacrifice recruited neutrals in sacrificial pits (Dungeon, Inferno, altars). The "Diplomacy" skill itself is permitted.

Next, the rules apply to games on random maps:
- Maps are created through the game itself with the options "hidden minimap" and "random towns" enabled.
- Map size: medium (136x136) with a Dungeon.
- Monsters: strong.
- Number of players: 2.
The template can be chosen either randomly or by agreement.
- Each player has the right to two restarts: one no later than the first day, and another no later than the second day (the end of the day is considered when pressing the pass turn button, regardless of whether the opponent has finished their current turn or not).
In addition, if, playing as a non-dwarf faction, a player receives a snowy starting zone, he has the right to an extra restart. This right can only be used at the beginning of the first turn (before even one of the player's heroes leaves the starting town).

It is also highly recommended to use the IRMG (Idan's Random Map Generator) due to the creation of more diverse and balanced maps. All information about it can be found Here.
3 - RTA duels
- Turn time limit – 15 minutes
- Dynamic combat – disabled
- Autosave – enabled
- Simultaneous turns – enabled
- Animation speed – maximum
