528 A.D.: The Secession of Tuidhana Tuidhana, the legendary founder of the Dark Elves, proclaims her state's independence from the Elven Kingdom.
540 A.D.: The War of Bitter Ash - Birth of the Dark Elves A war between the Elves of Irollan and the Knight of the Holy Falcon Empire, with the primary combat taking place on Tuidhana's territory. Her lands are attacked from both sides, and eventually, Tuidhana enters into a pact with the Faceless to gain the power to protect her people. All those who followed her were forever changed by the blessing of Malassa, the Dragon of Darkness. From this day forward, they shall be known as Dark Elves. With the support of their new allies, they expel both the Elves and Humans from their lands.
548 A.D.: The Peace of New Spring The Holy Falcon Empire renounces all claims to elven lands and pays extensive reparations for the damage caused. The independence of the Dark Elf state is recognized by the Elves and Humans — as a result of military actions — though periodic skirmishes on the borders continue.
566 A.D.: The Day of Fire Tears - Death of Tuidhana The elven capital burns in a great fire. The High King dies in the flames along with most of his inner circle. Britigga, Mother of Trees, revered by the Elves as a saint, also perishes in the fire. The loss to the Elves is irreparable. The Dark Elves are accused of arson. They are given a choice: exile or death. Most choose exile; those who remain are hunted and killed without regret or mercy. Tuidhana remains with her lands and dies at the hands of the Elves.
585 A.D.: Discovery of Demon Involvement in the Day of Fire Tears The Dragon Knights provide the Elves with evidence confirming that a Demon spy carried out the arson of the elven capital. Messengers are sent to the wandering Dark Elves offering amnesty and a return home. The offer is rejected.
