“You are right,” Calentia nodded in agreement. “If you’ll allow, I would like to learn more about the details of the mission we’ve been assigned. While the goal we’re striving for is perfectly clear, the sheer number of guard patrols and units like ours in the eastern forest raises certain questions, even if we don’t take into account the agents of Reginleif who have been roaming the territory. To attribute all of this to mere coincidence would be somewhat naive.”

– You are right,” Calentia said with a nod, “if you allow it, I would like to know more about the details of the mission we have been given. While the goal before us is perfectly clear, the abundance of guard patrols and squads similar to ours in the eastern forest cannot but raise certain questions on its own, even if one does not take into account the agents of Reginleiv who were roaming the territory. To attribute all this to mere coincidences would be somewhat naive.

– If the task is perfectly clear, then what exactly are the details and “certain questions” that interest you? Ask, and I will answer if I can.

— What is happening in the eastern forest, and why are so many patrols heading there? What could be causing the presence of spies from Regineiva? Should we expect agents from other countries in Vesteria? Would it be preferable to deliver them to the guards or eliminate them on the spot? Are there any other dangers we should anticipate?

The rest of the week was noticeably marred by the aftermath of the recent patrol. Ren received the news of the execution of the captured Inquisitors with a sense of relief: they had only spoiled the appearance of Myrkoria by not carrying out the execution themselves in the old mill. Ilva, on the other hand, was noticeably upset by the hardships she had endured. The girl bravely endured the rest of the patrol, only occasionally allowing hints of distress to affect her appearance. Noticing this, her brother wanted to talk to her, but the girl turned away from him and quickened her pace, not even deigning to look at the young man. This continued even after they returned to the city: for the next few days, despite living under the same roof, they behaved like mere acquaintances. Ren, who did not consider himself guilty of anything, shrugged it off and spent his days aimlessly wandering around the city, sometimes venturing into the local bar-restaurant, and also lazily flipping through a dusty fashion magazine about Myrkoria that he found in the closet, where he decided to solve all the crosswords on the last page. Ilva, on the other hand, devoted all her free time to training with a Roman sword: her slender arms were laced with a light relief of muscles, and her fragile figure acquired healthy tones.
One of these days, the brother and sister independently decided to visit the Rivelstead estate. Ilva wanted to find out about new locations that would be accessible to their squad, while Ren intended to fulfill his promise to the red-haired warrior for a "friendly" duel.

— How you beat around the bush, just to avoid asking directly. — The Count sighed wearily. — I could easily hide the truth behind demagoguery or empty rhetoric, or perhaps answer with something along the lines of "who knows," and formally fulfill the promise without actually answering any of the questions... What you want to know is somehow related to your team's encounter with a group of spies that took place last week, isn't it?

— I apologize,” Calentia said, bowing her head, “you are absolutely right in your assumptions.

Hecate's greenhouse, in all its serene splendor, overshadowed even her sister's in the Enchanted Grove of Galgan, where Ilve had to go when she bought her eagle. At the moment, there was no one there except for the girl tending to the plants.

Compared to last week, the training hall was quiet today, and only Burgundy broke the silence.

— I apologize," Calentia bowed her head submissively, "you are absolutely right in your assumptions.

— Not long ago, I acquired the "Tear of Artery" from a third party, which I cannot identify due to our agreement. This Arterian artifact is quite simple in its essence and completely safe," the Count explains that the artifact works as an infinite first-aid kit that does not require medical skills, restores after battle with a 100% chance, even from a deep negative state, but can only be used by Arterians and on other Arterians. Consequently, it is quite natural that the Church wants to reclaim the "tear." Accordingly, this is where our conflict of interest arose, and your task, as a mercenary force, is to prevent them from interfering with me.

Renold greeted Burgundy and explained the already obvious purpose of his visit. "Before the duel, however, I would like to clarify one question. I heard from my sister, Eir, about the techniques of the path of fire, one of which, as I understand it, is capable of literally burning the opponent's body from the inside, leaving no chance of healing. Damaged equipment can be repaired or replaced, but this, I agree, does not quite fit into the code of friendly duels. Since the lives of my brothers and sisters also depend on me, I deemed it necessary to inquire about the use of this ability."

“What’s wrong with you?” the girl tapped her temple with a finger. “Do you think I’m crazy?… I haven’t mastered this technique yet.”

“Of course not, that wasn’t even considered.” The young man nodded respectfully. “But experience traveling forces one to be cautious, even in the smallest details. It might seem like cowardice, but I couldn’t risk endangering the people who trust me. However, now that this matter is resolved, I won’t bore you with any more tedious conversations, as that’s not why we met here.”

I didn't mention that I'm going for the Archer class, did I? If not, I'll write it now.

Kalentia couldn't help but notice the irony that Reginleif was essentially sending his men to their deaths for an artifact that was supposed to prevent such situations. Although it was hard to deny the value of the Count's new acquisition – it was no wonder the Church wanted to retrieve the "Tear."
“Thank you for your candor, Your Grace,” the girl said politely after listening to the story. “The artifact is indeed simple, but no less effective. What do you think the probability is that the Church will send one of its Valkyries to retrieve such a valuable item? Especially after the reconnaissance squad stopped communicating.”

I'm also going to the forest of falling arrows to die from a randomly dropped arrow.

Forest of falling bodies.

Burgundy adopts a defensive stance. Renold attacks Burgundy. Burgundy takes (crit) 201 damage (-101/100). Renold gains +3 to strength. She had 51 dodge if I remember correctly.
