Falcone definitely started playing towards the end of spring, won the Novice tournament, and solidified his success with a top 3 finish in an offline tournament in Siberia. He also performed well in the "Favorites" group, which is also a good result.

I would say that there isn't a "most improved player of the year" nomination that AISH would win :) (I like to call him that). But essentially, the winner of the "rookie tournament" wins in that nomination.

In essence, the winner in this category is the one who won the beginner tournament.

Then, the winner of the beginner tournament didn't hesitate to participate in the main tournament, confirming his skill level. In my opinion, this is highly commendable; not everyone can play well when being distracted by 10 people giving their unsolicited advice.
