When he found out that I was streaming the game and chatting with viewers in the Team Viewer chat, he said, "I won't finish the game; you're not playing fairly by streaming." Then, he called me a cheater for this reason. He said he had no idea that it was possible to create streams and considers it cheating because others are watching and can give hints. He claims that before streaming a game, I should have asked his permission. So, I'm turning to you with this question: is he right? It seems like no one ever asks for permission to stream, and there's nothing unfair about it. But a serious argument erupted, and the player refuses to finish the game and calls me a cheater because I'm using Team Viewer. I'll immediately note that the player is not Russian, Bulgarian, or Polish... but from Western Europe.

I don't even know what to say. It definitely can't be called cheating. Maybe it's just not customary for them. Just agree beforehand whether or not to stream the game.

You can stream and not receive hints, or vice versa, not stream and receive hints (if the person giving hints is sitting next to you, or even moving the mouse). Therefore, there is no direct connection between cheating and streaming.
If you were using streaming to cheat, your opponent would simply not know about such a stream. This might be an argument for them.

I wouldn't consider our CIS (or whatever) view on this problem to be the only correct and appropriate one. Just as we cannot put ourselves in the shoes of a Western European or a Chinese person. Therefore, we should especially listen to the opposing side's point of view. Especially considering that they have a completely different view on copyright. That's one point.

And besides... I watched one stream quite thoroughly, where voices from the chat actually gave valuable advice to the player. And after some hesitation, he acted according to the voices. And this did influence the outcome of the game. The result was achieved.
Wait a bit... The problems are only becoming apparent. There will be bans on streaming, or only with the consent of both players, or streaming by third parties, up to and including refusing to play. However, with a significant caveat - in games played for fun, this doesn't matter.
