Joint offline tournament for King’s Bounty Crossworlds "Wizard's Apprentice. The Beginning"

To everyone who has had the chance to fully enjoy Warriors of the North, I suggest returning to the good old Crossworlds and taking part in a new exciting tournament: "Wizard's Apprentice. The Beginning".

To enter the continent of Verona, simply having a navigation map in your pocket is no longer enough. You must also obtain permission from King Friedrich. Amelie will have to prove her magical abilities and demonstrate the Poison Skull spell to King Friedrich. But what if it can only be obtained on the third floor of the Magic Tower? The answer is obvious: defeat the gatekeepers on the first and second floors and seize the spell.

Players registered on at least one of the websites covering the theme of the game King’s Bounty may participate in the tournament, namely:

Tournament Rules

1. The tournament takes place from 22.01.2013 to 22.02.2013 on the licensed version of King’s Bounty Crossworlds, Campaigns: "Orcs' March" 1.3.1 (build 6170).

2. Tournament Goal: Without leaving the starting islands (Debir, Scarlet Wind, Bolo, Rusty Anchor), defeat the gatekeepers of the first and second floors of the Magic Tower with the minimum hero level.

3. The overall result will be calculated using the following formula:
R = Lvl.1 + I1 + Lvl.2 + I2,
where Lvl.1 and Lvl.2 are the current hero levels after victory over the gatekeepers,
I1 and I2 are the number of open and visited islands at the time of battle.

The tournament participant who scores the lowest number of points becomes the winner.

Thus, game time, skill leveling, and medals do not factor into the final results. You choose for yourself what to level up and how to do it.

Example: Player Vasya Pupkin had level 5 (Lvl.1=5) after victory over the first gatekeeper and did not leave Debir (I1=1), and, having visited all four islands (I2=4), defeated the second-floor gatekeeper and reached level 15 (Lvl.2=15).
Then his result will be as follows:
R = 5 + 1 + 15 + 4 = 25

4. The following are prohibited in the tournament:
- leaving the starting islands (Debir, Scarlet Wind, Bolo, Rusty Anchor);
- fleeing from the battlefield;
- starting a battle with an over-limit troop composition;
- stealing navigation maps, including for the Rusty Anchor;
- digging up and picking up any chests during battle (digging up and picking up chests on the adventure map is allowed!);
- playing with installed mods;
- using any cheating programs that can change the game structure or starting save;
- restarting the game (you may only play from the starting save).

5. Save and gameplay instructions:
- Download the starting save orcs_Start_KB.7z and unpack it into ... My Documents\My Games\Kings Bounty Crossworlds\$save;
- launch "Crossworlds", load the "Orcs' March" campaign, and load the starting save;
- after victory over the first gatekeeper, an intermediate save must be made;
- after completing the game, a final save with your nickname must be made (for example, orcs_AlexSPl.sav) and sent together with the intermediate save to the email address kbturnir2013@yandex.ru. The subject of the letter must specify Kings Bounty and preferably the website the player represents.
Note – the tournament is quite difficult and intended primarily for advanced players. But anyone who wishes can try their hand at it and, by completing it, hone their skills and abilities.

I wish everyone a pleasant time!
P.S. Thanks to VDV_forever and aristobal for providing the save, which was absolutely perfect for conducting this tournament!

Congratulations to all forum members and tournament participants, both experienced and less so, on Defender of the Fatherland Day, and here are the results!

It's worth noting that each participant had their own unique unit, which they used to defeat the second gatekeeper, which speaks to the enormous replayability potential of this wonderful game. Moreover, the highly praised Rune Wizards turned out to be only third in the table. The almost identical scores of two completely different players are also impressive; only 6 experience points separated the winner from the silver medalist!
I think the participants themselves will tell you about everything else.:o
