Abilities

• Armored 20% resistance to Physical damage.
• Hardened 10% resistance to Cold. On snowy terrain, Defense is increased by 50%.
• Pangs of Conscience When attacking, with probability of 20% it can remind the enemy of all its bad deeds. These painful memories deal Magic damage equal to half of the amount of damage that the offending troop dealt in its last attack. Damage also depends on the leadership of the Skald troops, compared with that of the target troop (at least 1 for each Scald in the troop).
• Runic Knowledge The troop has its own supply of Magic Runes. The Attack Rune increases the damage dealt by the troop by 25% and the Defense Rune decreases the damage received by the troop by 15%. Each Rune is applied automatically once per turn, when inflicting or receiving damage.
• Singer Supports the morale of the soldiers with songs and poems. Increases morale of all Viking units by 1. Does not work on Scalds.
• Paean Sings of strength and courage, inspiring allied units, and imposing on them a random blessing.
• Evil Taunt The troop ridicules the enemy, imposing on targets of level 3 random curse.
• Escort to Valhalla Praises allies who have fallen in battle. Raises the Initiative of allied Viking troops by 1 for 2 turns.
